Dr. Dave grew up in Cumberland ME. He attended St. Michaels College receiving a B.S. in Biology. Although he was a Pre-Veterinary major at St. Michaels, he began work in a plant research lab which led him to complete an M.S. in Soil Science at the Pennsylvania State University followed by a Ph.D. in Horticulture at Cornell University. After nearly a decade of plant research work Dr. Dave decided to pursue his true passion of caring for animals and earned his DVM from Cornell University.
Dr. Dave has a special interest in dermatology and internal medicine, more specifically managing chronic GI and skin conditions.
During the Summer of 2019 Dr. Dave moved to the Lincoln area. In October 2020 Dr. Dave and his family purchased the Chester Animal Hospital from Drs. Joe and Mel.
Dr. Dave enjoys fishing and has a passion for working on fixer upper boats. He also loves spending as much time possible exploring the great outdoors with his wife Michaela, daughters Lillian and Willow, Chocolate Labrador Retrievers Brown and Bucky and Golden Labrador Milo. The Moodys also have a friendly orange tabby named Carrot/Orange Cat.
Dr. Joe was born and raised in Howland, ME. He earned an Associates degree in Animal Science and a B.S. in Biology at the University of Maine, Orono. Dr. Joe earned a DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. It was there that he first met and became friends with Dr. Mel (They joined forces in life and in veterinary practice in 2010 and married in 2011).
In Dec. 1988 Dr. Joe moved his family to Chester and in Feb. 1989 he founded the Chester Animal Hospital.
Dr. Joe has 4 children, 2 stepchildren, and 4 very precious grandchildren. His leisure time is spent primarily in the great outdoors blazing trails and enjoying time in the woods fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and snowshoeing. He also enjoys time at camp, remote RV trips in Maine and gardening. Dr. Joe has a passion for and a committed interest in environmental conservation with his house and associated property 90% wind and solar powered. He and Dr. Mel share their lives with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a handful of chickens.
Dr. Mel was born and raised in Northern NH and Southern ME. Her education includes Wellesley College, Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and the University of Colorado for acupuncture. Dr. Mel began her career in MA at Saugus Animal Hospital and continued her career with a house call and acupuncture practice while she her raised children. Dr. Mel moved to ME in 2010 when she married her husband Dr. Joe and began working at CAH.
Dr. Mel's parents and 4 siblings live in Southern ME, she has two wonderful children of her own, and shares Dr. Joe's large family of stepmother, siblings, 4 children, and 4 grand babies. Dr. Mel and Joe live with 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a flock of 10 chickens. Together they enjoy fishing, walking, working, foraging in the woods, vegetable gardening, reading, playing cribbage, and puzzling.
Karen is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has worked for CAH since 1995. Karen earned degrees in Animal Medical Technology, Applied Science and Business Administration from UMAINE. She values the relationships that she has built with numerous clients and their fur babies over the years, and feels very fortunate to be part of a highly skilled veterinary family that makes compassionate care for all pets a priority.
Karen enjoys spending time with her friends, her husband James, daughter Samantha, and their 2 dogs Molly and Abby. She also enjoys embarking on day trips to the coast of Maine during the Summer.
Michele is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has worked for CAH since 1989. She earned an Associates degree in Animal Medical Technology from the UMAINE at Orono. Michele has always had a love for animals and a passion for helping them.
Michele has two daughters who are her pride and joy. Along with enjoying sports and nature, Michele's hobbies include camping, snow sledding, four wheeling, fishing, and riding on the back of her Harley. Michele's happy place is being on or in the water with her family and pets by her side.

Lee-Ann has worked in the field of veterinary medicine since 1989. She moved to Maine from Rhode Island in 2012 and has worked for CAH since.
In her free time Lee-Ann enjoys fishing, hiking, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Emily is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has worked for CAH since 2016. She earned an Associates degree of Science and a Bachelors degree of Science in Veterinary Technology from UMAINE August/Bangor. Emily is a Fear Free Certified Veterinary Professional, Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy Certified Veterinary Professional and one of the only NAVC Human-Animal Bond Certified Licensed Veterinary Technicians in New England.
Emily is a Registered Maine Guide for Hunting and enjoys all outdoor activities. She can be found riding her horses Telos and Gunner and tending to her small hobby farm in Medway. Emily lives in Medway with her husband Nick, German Sephard Max and 2 cats Ruby and Cooper.
Caprice is from Chester and began working at CAH in 2019.
Animals and art are Caprice's passions. When she is not hanging out with her cats she is pursuing her love of photography.
Michaela earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Lawrence University. She continued her education at Cornell University where she earned a Master of Public Administration and met her husband Dave.
Rain, snow, or shine Michaela enjoys being active outside with her family Dave, Lillian, Willow, Brown, Bucky, Milo and Carrot/Orange Cat.

Erynn is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has worked for CAH since 2019. Erynn earned a Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Technology from UMAINE at Augusta.
Erynn is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and going to camp with her husband Marcus and their two dogs Riley and Finnegan. She also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and their two cats.
Lindsey has worked with animals her entire life and in addition to her work at CAH she is pursuing a degree to become a licensed veterinary technician.
When she is not spending time with her animals Lindsey is often coaching gymnastics. She also likes any hobbies outside especially hunting, fishing, and hiking. Lindsey enjoys spending time with family, friends and her animals.
Kortnie has grown up with animals and has fallen in love with them. She has a passion for dogs and has two of her own. She changed majors to follow her passion and would like to continue her career as a vet tech and groomer.
She has worked at a dog daycare where she spent her days playing with and cuddling dogs. She also enjoys taking her dogs for walks and swims.
In her free time Kortnie likes to ATV, hunt, ice fish, and adventure.

Barbara earned an AAS in Medical Assistant from Eastern Maine Community College. She is currently enrolled at UMA to earn a Masters in Science with a Minor in Psychology.
Barbara has three wonderful children-2 boys and a girl along with two step daughters and an amazing boyfriend.
In the summer Barbara enjoys spending time outside in the warm weather however you can generally find her family at the race truck in their mud truck.
Along with her daily adventures with her family she also enjoys spending time with her chickens, piggies, cats, and dog.
Brooke has earned both her CNA and Medical Administrative through Region 3. She is currently enrolled in a Liberal Studies Program through EMCC.
Brooke has two wonderful kids, a boy and a girl, along with three fur babies.
In her free time Brooke enjoys being out in nature with her family. Brooke's hobbies also include hunting, fishing, snow sledding, and four wheeling. As long as Brooke is with her family she is happy.
